Our Previous Issue - Winter 2009

From Our Editor...I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  Bob and I sure did!  We arrived home from our month long cruise to the Amazon a few days before Christmas.  We had a fantastic time, everything went perfectly and the Amazon River is truly amazing - every port was unique and fascinating.  But now it’s time to get the winter issue of the magazine out into your hands!

Thank you for being patient with me while Bob and I went south of the equator.  We have many interesting stories in this issue from 17 contributors.  Thank you to all who have responded to the Metro Retro photos – it’s great to hear from you, I have enjoyed and learned much from your memories and historical facts.  In this issue we have covered the CLC Grand National along with an account of how the GN poster was created by our own Dan Reed Cheryl Eggert writes about the fantastic time she and Charlie had when they brought their 1931 Cadillac 16 Convertible Coupe to the Pebble Beach Concours and Bayard Badaenhausen continues with his fascinating biography of his life’s passion for Classic Cars.  It is my privilege to be able to print his memories for everyone to enjoy.  The Radnor Hunt Concours , the new Monmouth Concours and the Fairfield Concours are all covered and Carol Kidd gives us a glimpse of her adventures on the European CARavan last spring.  Chris Wantuck has provided another interesting tech article on reproducing small parts and I have new photos for you to identify in the Metro Retro section.  Metro’s Annual Meeting is covered where we encouraged all to attend our Grand Classic in April.  I have provided a registration form for your convenience, along with some background about our Friday evening event, which sounds super!  Please check out our ads in the back of the magazine and support our donors when possible – thanks!  And don’t forget to check the calendar on the last page to plan your upcoming events.  I hope you enjoy this issue – it has been great fun hearing from you all.

May the New Year bring you much happiness.  Remember – once we get through January, the days start getting longer, the sun a little brighter and spring is nearly around the corner.  Have fun in the snow!

- Grace
